BAKE SALE
Saint Helen's Ave Mercantile (753 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) is celebrating the holidays PTA-style with a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. Friday, Nov. 15 through the weekend. The businesses - The OCD Candy Company, The Tea Works, The Blue Octopus, and Wolf Bear Treasures - will be slinging cakes, cookies, cupcakes, fudge, baklava and more. Perfect for those not so inclined in the kitchen.
HOME COCKTAILS AT CABANA
Brian Johnson of Better Cocktails at Home concocts compelling potions and films it for youtube. It's awesome. From 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, Johnson will leave his home and sling cocktails at Tacoma Cabana (728 Pacific Ave., Tacoma). Grab your phone and film him making three original recipes including Bathysphere (gin, Benedictine, lime, tiki bitters), and two favorites including the Last Word (gin, green Chartreuse, lime, Maraschino), all ringing in at $8 a pop.
THREE-COURSE MEAL
Tacoma Restaurant Week took this year off. That's not stopping TRW participant Brix 25 (7707 Pioneer Way, Gig Harbor). The fine-dining restaurant will offer the standard TRW deal - three-course meal for $25 - every Tuesday.
