LUNCHBOX LABORATORY

Lunchbox Laboratory, with locations in Seattle and Bellevue, has received favorable press from Evening Magazine, Food Network, Bon Appétit and Food and Wine Magazine. A new round of press is certain with the opening of its third location - Gig Harbor (4901 Point Fosdick Dr. NW) Friday, Oct. 25. MURDER MYSTERY

Murder Mystery Fundraising Dinner Theater - a combination of words that simply screams awesome from the mountaintops. The Zonta Club of Olympia partners with Harlequin Productions for the fourth Annual Murder Mystery Fundraising Dinner Theater Friday, Oct. 25 at the Indian Summer Golf and Country Club (5900 Troon Lane SE, Olympia). With a high school reunion theme, the dinner and show begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person or $500 for a table of eight. Funds raised during this event benefit organizations including Monarch Children's Justice and Advocacy Center, Child Care Action Council, Family Education and Support Services, Olympia Free Clinic, YWCA, Safeplace, Community Youth Services and others. BEER FLOAT SOCIAL

Let the little ghouls and goblins gobble up their Sugar Daddies and candy bars; mom and dad can look forward to their own seasonal treats at Pint Defiance's Beer Float Social (2049 Mildred St. W., Tacoma). From 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 Pint Defiance partners with the Ice Cream Social people to pair pumpkin brews with artisan ice cream to concoct a float of the grown-up variety. Must be 21 to attend.

NEW LOCAL WHISKEY

Heritage Distilling Co. (3207 57th Court NW, Gig Harbor) is celebrating a one-two punch Nov. 2 with its one-year anniversary and the release of its newest spirit Elk Rider Blended Whiskey. Beginning at 10 a.m. lovers of the craft spirits can imbibe delectable pastries paired with Cutter's Point Coffee, which includes a special whiskey caramel macchiato featuring Heritage's whiskey caramel sauce made by Carter's Chocolate. Sample the spirits, take a tour, join its Cask Club, but whatever you do, be the one of the first 100 to purchase a bottle of Elk Rider Blended Whiskey to receive a signed bottle from the Master Distiller Justin Stiefel.
