If you haven't checked out South Sound's newest waterfront eatery Boathouse 19 (9001 S. 19th St., Tacoma), then set sail for it this month. If you dine at the Narrows Marina restaurant in December, it will award you a buy-on-get one-half-off voucher for January. Helps to pad the wallet a bit after the holiday season.

JW Restaurant (4107 Harborview Dr., Gig Harbor) is filled with the giving spirit. Every Tuesday and Wednesday this month, JW will offer a three-course dinner for $30.

Delight in some bubbly and vino at Grand Vin Wine Merchants' (1003 Fourth Ave. E., Olympia) December First Friday Tasting event Dec. 7, 5-7 p.m. From a Spanish Rose and a dry Prosecco to a lovely Washington red blend, you may taste before you buy - then take advantage of 10 percent savings on featured wines. Someone wouldn't mind some of that in their stocking, *hint, hint.

Dirty Oscar's (2309 6th Ave., Tacoma) hosts its Holiday Moonshine Dinner Tuesday, Dec. 11. The Sixth Avenue neighborhood bar will pair intriguing bites with flavored moonshines such as apple pie, cherry, cranberry, black berry, strawberry and blueberry. Reservations are required at 253.572.0588.

Embellish Multispace Salon (1121 Court D, Tacoma) may not render thoughts of culinary goods but its upcoming Pinterest event may change your mind. From 7-11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, the downtown hair salon invites you to bring a favorite dish and recipe to share with others. Eat, Drink and discover someone else's favorite.

On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me: tweeeeelve taaaasty brews! The Hub (203 Tacoma Ave. S.) rings in the merry with its first annual 12 beers of Christmas challenge. Daily between Dec. 13-24, The Hub will feature a seasonal brew a day - such as an oak aged vanilla porter or a raspberry blonde that has been aging in a 21 Cellars cabernet sauvignon barrel - for tasting. Participants who complete the challenge will receive a custom engraved glass mug to prove their seasonal beer dedication.
