Soft and savory breads, sweet and fun desserts, and homemade pizza crusts to-go are just a few local favorites at San Francisco St Bakery in Olympia.

Summer adds something new to the menu – dinner. The beloved bakery has expanded summer hours and provides an open air restaurant environment to customers. Dinner service is 5:30 – 9 p.m., Thursday thru Sunday.

Last summer was the first for dinner service, and they returned to regular bakery hours during the rainy season. This year the bakery plans to make a covered area and stay open year-round, says Nolan Otto, manager.

Sitting in the park-like native garden and having fresh, local specials delivered to your table, like Asian-style mussels served with coconut milk, or sausage and onion pizza, is something Olympians are quite literally eating up.

“The environment is awesome,” says Pat Stanley, employee and patron. “That’s really part of the deal, sitting outside on a nice summer night."

“And they served the best clam linguini I’ve ever had,” he adds.

“It’s nice when tables are really obviously enjoying themselves,” says Otto.
