Lovin' The Spar in Old Tacoma

Email Article Print Article Share on Facebook Share on Reddit Share on StumbleUpon

The Spar is more than just a historical, eclectic bar in Old Town Tacoma.  Aside from their selection of twenty beers on tap and extremely addicting Spar Chips, The Spar has a section set aside for families and early morning risers.

Monday through Friday morning-time friends, along with their kids, can cozy up inside The Spar Cafe beginning at 7:30 am for breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal and a vast array of espresso drinks, smoothies and snacks.  Saturday and Sunday host a larger breakfast menu including omelets, French toast and pancakes, all beginning at 9 am.

Hardwood floors, high ceilings, water views and two original 1920's prohibition-era "soda bar" (currently used for beer and espresso) lend to a warm and welcoming feeling that will make you want to stay all day.  The Spar is one of the few true taverns in Tacoma who sell beer and wine only, and no hard alcohol.

Lunch and dinner goers can enjoy the full Spar menu beginning at 11 am, with kids allowed in special sections of the dining room until 9 o'clock in the evening.

Oh, and hey, they have free Wi-Fi.  I know because I'm using it right now to write this.
