I might have been a bit overzealous on our blog, Spew, describing the awesomeness of Saturday's Downtown Block Party. I stand by it. It was Tacoma at its best. And while huddled citizens flourished in creativity in Opera Alley, mere steps away Over The Moon Café continued its path toward perfection, specifically its finger food of the gods - croutes de fromage. With glitter stuck to my skin, my wife Kate and I fought over the 12 thick chunks of freshly baked sourdough bread, Gruyere cheese and mellow and moist Swiss cheese that had been soaked in a sweet white wine sauce before grilling. Oh, sweet Julia Child these gooey slabs are true heaven.

The starter dish arrives with a cup of sweet apricot marmalade. Use it.
