STAINED TEETH: South Sound Wine Trails

I'd buy that for $20

By Ron Swarner on August 8, 2011

Maybe I've been reading too much Sunset magazine lately, but the thought of touring local wineries leaves me salivating. I want it so bad, and I could have it - for $20.

For the first time, the wineries of the South Sound have banded together with the Olympia Lacey Tumwater Visitor & Convention Bureau to host a passport event. Taste the wines from Vina Salida, McCrea Cellars, Walter Dacon, Medicine Creek Winery, Madsen Family Cellars, Northwest Mountain Winery and Stottle Winery.

The $20 passports include free tastings and a $5 discount off any wine purchase. Complete your passport by getting a stamp at each of the tasting rooms and be entered to win a weekend getaway with two nights lodging and dinner, a Capitol Dome Stress Reliever and $50 gas card.

Passports are valid anytime during tasting room normal business hours Aug. 12-21. Visit www.southsoundwinetrail.com for more details.
