At 5:20 p.m. I'm on my way home from a difficult day at work. Being the obsessed foodie I am, I naturally turn to food for comfort. Dave and wife Anita opened Thrill of the Grill, a cheerful, updated 1950s-style burger joint on Tacoma Avenue, last November.
They began serving breakfast this past Monday, offering $3.50 breakfast burritos or sandwiches.
As big as a burger, the sandwich has a grilled bun, huge juicy 4-inch sausage patty and cheese to choose from - pepper jack, Swiss, cheddar or American. You like your pig crisp? Go with bacon. Firm - not rubbery or runny - egg made the sammy safe to pick up and eat sans plate, knife and fork. Technically breakfast is a morning thing, but Dave was kind enough to make me this comforting treat on my way home; what a guy. He makes a mean breakfast sandwich and other true blue American fare, too - like burgers and waffle-cut fries, hot dogs, melts, sandwiches, fresh salads, and root beer floats. Soup is new to Thrill of the Grill as well. Check out a 12-ounce bowl with cheesy breadstick for $3.75, or two corn dogs and home fries for $3. Noting beats espresso milkshakes - the consistency of soft serve made with real ice cream and milk.
Plus: Nothing over $10.
Minus: Haven't found one.

The Thrill Of the Grill has the best shakes and burgers! I've been there only a few times and love it! It's a little small but has great service and friendly staff! I definitely recommend this for a quick but satisfying meal!
