Sandwiched between Tacoma and Olympia beer weeks and the grand brouhaha of brew festivities, Oktoberfest, you have September. The month where the kids go back to school and the autumn season begins to set in. There are extracurricular activities to juggle, homework, and all of life's usual to-dos -- it's no wonder that September has become the month for sipping and swirling your woes away. I mean, it doesn't solve anything, but pushing the pause button sure doesn't hurt!

Here are a few wine-focused gatherings coming your way, that now have me calling this month "Sippen' September," because I love alliterations.

Saturday, Sept. 7, 3:30-8 p.m., you're invited to stroll your way through Tacoma's Stadium District to indulge in wine and beer tasting paired with tasty bites during the 11th annual Stadium District Art, Wine and Beer Walk. In the Doyle's Public House parking lot, you'll find the Wine Garden -- plus, you'll spy local artists and musicians providing the ambiance throughout this historic district and participating venues. Must be 21+ to imbibe.

Tickets are available online at stadiumartwineandbeerwalk.com and can be found at a variety of Stadium businesses. Pre-sale ticket-holders will be able to check in at Columbia Bank at 3:30 p.m. in an expedited check-in line which will give you more time to enjoy the fun.

Saturday, Sept. 28, 2-6 p.m., Puyallup streets will be abustle with those strolling from venue to venue for the Puyallup Steins and Stems. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 day of, and include an eco-friendly tasting cup, eight tasting tickets, a wristband and a reusable bag for bottles of vino you purchase along the way. Wine, craft beers and ciders are locally crafted and will be available at a wine store setup so you can take your favorite sippers home to savor later. As expected, you must be 21+ to attend. Find your tickets online at puyallupmainstreetassociation.ticketspice.com/steins-stems.

On the same day, Sept. 28, 2-5 p.m., Olympia is hosting their Sip, Savor and Stroll event. This event takes the traditional wine walk and elevates it to progressive dinner status for our foodie friends. Connect with the chefs, brewers and restaurant owners as you explore this delectable city. This season, they're offering three different experiences: vegetarian dining, breweries and bars, or the variety option. Tickets are $55 each and are available online. There's even an after-party at Rhythm and Rye following your dining adventure.

Participating places showcasing their culinary prowess include: Dillinger's, Dos Hermanos Mexican Kitchen, Octapas Cafe, Sofie's Scoops Gelato, Three Magnets Brewing and more. See full details at downtownolympia.org/Event and score your tickets today.
