Biography

A sweet powerhouse trio from Tacoma's own Hilltop. Punk, New Wave, and 90's Indie rock influences combine to take your ears and attention to a place that is both and rock and the art of pure emotion.

Here's what one nice person said about us once:

RON SWARNER: BLANCOED >>>

I guess I hear it. People keep talking about how Blanco Bronco reminds them of Pavement. Malkmus is a quirky dude with an acute voice and deadpan delivery that makes hipsters feel better about being discarded at high school and jocks feel better about their secret desire to make-out with the hipster chicks. Blanco Bronco lead singer Aaron Wilson is far less subtle, as is the group’s overall aesthetic. If I continue my overhead view of high-school, Blanco Bronco are more suited for the drama club set. The urgent, trembling voice, paired with hard-driving and distorted variety, is pretty and none too subtle. It’s also wonderfully imperfect, which could explain the Pavement theories.

Oh, I guess I didn’t mention that Blanco Bronco are freakin’ fantastic. Their show last night at the Acme Grub Cage swelled with energy, talent and just the right amount of slacker attitude " at least on the surface. They grabbed every single person’s full attention yet operated in their own world. Brilliant.
