When Beatseed originally formed, their first track "Under The Clear" went to #1 on the local yearly charts for KGRG fm, and #2 for the national charts for the college station; beating out many larger and nationally known bands with their self produced demo. Thrive Records with Warner Brothers Distribution got word of it and quickly snatched up the Seattle act and put them on the CMJ charts with the rotation of the compilation "Sampling the Future" a mix by Donald Glaude; and to follow what came to be the DJ favorite "Moonboots" the EP re-released by Thrive Records from the original vinyl self produced by the group.

Beatseed’s CD Boom Box Theory, was licensed by Bunim-Murray Productions for the MTV’s show Real World. 9 out of the 12 songs on Boom Box Theory were used on many episodes of the show. Beatseed has opened for acts such as The Crystal Method, Jurassic 5, the Beatnuts, and Modest Mouse. Beatseed was featured on 2 independent films "The Party" and "Raves The Experience" in which 80% of the soundtrack featured Beatseed's music; and "Raves The Experience" won #1 Independent film in the Canadian Film Festival.

Currently, Beatseed has an EP called “Mustang” recently finished, and they are now in the studio working on a new upcoming album. Mustang and Ocean, 2 songs from the Mustang EP, have recently been licensed for use on multiple Cable TV shows on MTV, Oxygen, E! Entertainment and BET.
