In the winter of 2008 Kevin Saint and Jamie Blacksmith set out to create a tribute to the band Tool. Taking the name from the title of the highly progressive track off the album Ænima, 46 & 2 performs the full range of Tool music from the nihilistic aggression of Opiate to the progressive complexity of 10,000 days, 46 & 2 prides themselves on delivering the detail and intricacy of the Tools studio recordings with the energy and intensity that can only happen with live music.

Saint's vocals faithfully embody the spirit and sound that Tool devotees would expect while Blacksmith grinds out the driving bass gives Tool music its distinct sound. Guitarist Chris Gizzi alternates between atmospheric textures and driving riffs while the backing vocals of Linda Farr add an ethereal ambiance and Andy Garness thunders out the geometric percussion that drives the pulse of Tool. A performance by 46 & 2 is guaranteed to satisfy the most ardent Tool fans and convert the less initiated.
