The VA will host public Memorial Day commemoration ceremonies at more than 130 of their national cemeteries this Memorial Day weekend. Please check out the list below to find ceremony dates and start times for a cemetery near you. 

Visitors are encouraged to contact the national cemetery to confirm ceremony information prior to the event.. Dates and times may change due to inclement weather or other circumstances. 

Fort Lawton Post Cemetery, Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m., Texas Way, Seattle.

Fort Warden Post Cemetery, Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m., 1300-1398 W St., Port Townsend.

Tahoma National Cemetery, Monday May 27 at 1 p.m., 18600 SE 240th St., Kent.

Woodbine Cemetery. Monday May 27 at noon, 2323 9th St. SW, Puyallup, WA 98373

Mountain View Memorial Park Memorial Day Service: Monday, May 27 at 2 p.m., 

4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood. 

Mountain View Memorial Park and the Pierce County Veterans Advisory Council invites you to attend the event as they pay honor and tribute to all the men and women who died serving our country. Event features keynote speaker, patriotic music, wreath laying ceremony and the presentation of colors. Mountain View will be open all weekend long for visitors. Staff will be available to help you locate gravesites. 

If you would like to volunteer to place flags in their 160 acre memorial park, they will be gathering for breakfast and kick-off at 8:30 a.m., Saturday May 25 at Mountain View's Celebration of Life Center. 

Washington State Capitol Campus: A Memorial Day ceremony and an Olympia Thunder Run will be held on Memorial Day to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Rotunda of the Legislative Building from 10 a.m. to noon, while the Thunder Run will take place at the Vietnam War Memorial from noon to 1 p.m. 

wear blue: run to remember - Memorial Day 2024: Monday, May 27, 8 a.m., Powderworks Park, Dupont.

This Memorial Day, pay tribute to the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Join the JBLM-DuPont wear blue: run to remember chapter and our community as we take purposeful steps to honor the over 65,000 service members killed since the Vietnam War. Together, we'll run with purpose and remembrance.

While formal remarks start at 9 a.m., there will be food and drink beginning at 8 a.m. Bring a picture to post on the memorial wall. wear blue merchandise will be sold at 8:15 a.m.

Parking at the PowderWorks Parking lot will be reserved for volunteers and community service providers, so please plan accordingly.

The 5K run/walk will start in waves after the formal remarks. The Gold Star Youth and their Mentors will begin our run. Faster runners are encouraged to start near the front and walkers or families with strollers start near the end. The route will be clearly marked and Champion Centre will provide course marshalling for safety and direction. This is not a formal race with timing or medals but a community event of active remembrance. The route will return to the Park where participants will be treated to hot dogs, chips and water by the DuPont's GraceWorks Church.

The Landing at Hawks Prairie: Monday, May 27, 1110-1390 Galaxy Drive NE, Lacey.

The Landing at Hawks Prairie is honoring active and retired military personnel on Memorial Day. Enjoy shopping discounts, raffles, live music, magician, USO girl and a balloon twister. Plus enjoy free ice cream for all attendees.

The front lawn of Clover Park High School (CPHS) marks Memorial Day each year with an unforgettable sea of remembrance that illustrates the sacrifice the men and women of our armed forces make to keep our country safe.

Clover Park High School's Arlington Project is constructed on the school's front lawn. CPHS students place individually-named markers for the nearly 7,000 fallen soldiers from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it will remain on display through Memorial Day. - Clover Park School District release

Puyallup Memorial Day Weekend 2024: Monday, May 27, beginning at noon, 2323 9th St. SW, Puyallup.

R. Vernon Hill Memorial American Legion Post 67 will be sponsoring its annual Memorial Day ceremony at Woodbine Cemetery. This event is open to the public at no cost.

Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony: Tuesday, May 28, 2-3 p.m., Forest Lawn Cemetery, 6701 30th Ave. SW, Seattle.

This event is a special way to honor and remember our fallen heroes. Thanks to the Natl. Fed. of Fil-Am Assocs. and Dignity Memorial, there will be live music, free refreshments, and a touching ceremony to pay our respects. Bring your family and friends for a day of remembrance and gratitude. Celebrate and commemorate the brave individuals who have served our country.

Free admission 

The Museum of Flight: 9404 E. Marginal Way South Seattle.

In celebration of Memorial Day and in honor of veterans and active duty military, the Museum of Flight offers free admission all weekend, May 25 through May 27. Veterans receive free admission for themselves all weekend, no proof needed. Through the Blue Star Museums Program all active duty military are eligible, plus up to five family members. This includes the National Guard and Reserve. This offer is active from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day. Must present Military ID upon arrival.

Hands on Children's Museum: 414 Jefferson St. NE Olympia.

Spend Memorial Day weekend at Hands on Children's Museum. With valid ID military families receive half-price admission, plus they can save $30 on military memberships (basic or deluxe). With 150 exhibits - including the amazing Outdoor Discovery Center, nature play, tinkering, MakeSpace and Art Studio - a fun time awaits your family this weekend.
