It's the most wonderful time of the year and we're here to fill you in on additional opportunities to deck your calendars full this holiday season. Here are local holiday happenings in the communities surrounding JBLM. 

Sunday, Nov. 28

Olympia Downtown holiday celebrations kick off with LoveOly Winter Fest in downtown from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28. Enjoy live music and performances along with a festive seasonal lighting, horse drawn carriage rides, holiday storytelling and unique shopping opportunities. A winter refreshment station featuring locally produced craft beer, cider and other libations will also be on site for purchase. Free small servings of hot cocoa will also be available for kids at Batdorf and Bronson on Capitol Way during the festival. Wednesday-Sunday, Dec. 1-5

A Victorian Country Christmas Marketplace is back this year, marking the 33rd annual Christmas event. The market takes place at the Washington State Fair Events Center and is the perfect opportunity to shop for everyone on your list. Hundreds of stores in the marketplace, holiday performances, a winter wine garden, visits with Santa, and more make this the perfect holiday outing. Saturday, Dec. 4

The City of Dupont presents their annual tree lighting at Ross Plaza. Gather at the plaza starting at 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 to kick off the holidays and watch the Christmas tree light-up. Sunday, Dec. 5

The City of Dupont presents their annual Santa breakfast at the home course. Kicking off at  10 a.m. be sure to bring your camera as you enjoy a festive time with a delicious breakfast with Santa. Tickets are $18 plus tax with children two and younger free. Tickets must be purchased in advance as tickets will not be sold at the door. Saturday, Dec. 11

The City of Lakewood's Drive Through Parade of Lights will take place on Dec. 11 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fort Steilacoom Park. Visitors will drive through a maze of holiday floats constructed by local businesses, clubs and organizations. A path through Fort Steilacoom Park will also be lined with festive displays that visitors will enjoy from the comfort of their cars.  More information here, https://bit.ly/30x3MKl.
