The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium has reimagined their spectacular holiday light display in order to still bring their annual holiday display in a safe manner to South Sound families. Kicking off Nov. 27 and running through Jan. 3, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

During this time the entire zoo is transformed with over 700,000 lights and multiple opportunities to see 3-D animal light displays throughout the zoo. This fun holiday tradition gives families the opportunities to see the animals at Point Defiance all while being dazzled by the holiday magic of Christmas lights.

Due to COVID-19 they have made some safety measure changes to ensure that all guests are able to enjoy the lights in a safe manner. Face coverings will be required, except for on specific health exemption days and times (check online for more info). Social distancing measures have also been implemented that include one way paths to ensure it's possible to maintain social distance. Their new safety measures also mean that indoor enclosures including both aquariums, goat area and the carousel will be closed.

Despite the closures there is still plenty of magic to be discovered, including their incredible light tunnel, Sasquatch, Seahawks Tree and more old time favorites. Plus some new will be added this year. It's important to also note that no tickets will be sold at the gate and must be purchased online prior to arrival and guests will be given a time allotment.

Monday-Thursday tickets are slightly cheaper at $11 for general admission and $5.50 if you're a zoo member. Friday-Sunday general admission is $14 and $7 for zoo members. Kids two and younger are free.
