The City of Lacey Parks, Culture & Recreation summer programs strike just the right note with its Lacey in Tune programs, comprised of music, movies and entertainment, designed to make memories of fun.

"For over 25 years Lacey Parks has been offering Concerts at Huntamer Park as well as Children's Entertainment and Movies," said Jeannette Sieler, recreation supervisor with Lacey Parks.

"Studies show that building healthy relationships and spending time with family, friends and others in the community helps improve mental well-being, strengthens relationships and creates memorable moments."

CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT SERIES

The following free events begin at 6:30 p.m. and are held on Tuesdays in Huntamer Park, located at 618 Woodland Square Loop Southeast.

• July 5: Henrik Bothe (comedy performance)
• July 12: Louie Foxx (magic)
• July 19: Cap'n ARRR (comedy performance)
• July 26: Brian Waite Band (music, fun & storytelling)
• Aug. 2: Ruth & Emilia (storytelling, positive messaging)
• Aug. 9: Angel Ocasio (juggling, magic & comedy)

CONCERT SERIES

This free series is held at noon from Wednesday, July 6 thru Aug. 10 at Huntamer Park.

• July 6: Full Metal Racket (133^rd Washington Army National Guard Band)
• July 13: Mariachi Mexico (classic Mexican music)
• July 20: Ranger & the Rearrangers (hot club swing music)
• July 27: Platinum Soul (soul, funk, R&B)
• Aug. 3: Cosmo's Dream (original folk music)
• Aug. 10: Slainte (Irish rock)

FRIDAY CONCERTS & MOVIES AFTER DARK

There are also a number of free concerts and family-friendly movies (concessions are available; bring your own seating) designed to begin the weekend on the right note. The fun begins at 7 p.m. in Huntamer Park.

• July 15: Cherry, Cherry (Neil Diamond Tribute Band) & The Sandlot (PG)
• July 22: Olson Bros Band (original country rock) & Jungle Cruise (PG-13)
• July 29: Nate Botsford Band (country rock) & Sing 2 (PG)

• July 3: Lacey Fireworks Spectacular features food, music and fun at Rainer Vista Park situated at 5475 45^th Ave. SE in Lacey. Festivities begin at 4 p.m.; fireworks are at 10 p.m.
• July 14: Play In The Parks - Creature Teachersoffers a look into the world of reptiles, amphibians and other creepy crawlies. The excitement begins at 2 p.m. at the Regional Athletic Complex, Shelter C, which is located at 8345 Steilacoom Road, SE in Olympia.
• July 21: Play In The Parks - Brian Vogan & His Good Buddies Bandfeatures music for kids of any age. The tunes begin a 2 p.m. at the Lacey Depot Park, located at 5555 Pacific Ave. SE in Lacey.
• Aug. 11: Play In The Parks - Parrot Ambassadorsis a fun-filled opportunity to enjoy the beauty and intelligence of five to six parrots. The fun starts at 2 p.m. at the Woodland Creek Community Park located at 6729 Pacific Ave. SE in Olympia.
• Aug. 25: Play In The Parks - S.T.E.A.M. Museum allows K-6 students the opportunity to experience hands on science and technology. This look into the near future begins at 2 p.m. at the Lacey Community Center, located at 6729 Pacific Ave. SE in Olympia.
