Cherry blossoms at the state Capitol

By Experience Olympia on April 1, 2022

Cherry blossoms have long stood as a symbol of spring. And with the spring equinox on March 20 came the bursting of cherry blossoms at the state Capitol. There is no better local place to check out the beautiful magnolias and cherry blossoms in full bloom. Plan to stop by and stroll through the campus to take in the beauty. But hurry, they won't last forever!

During your trip to the campus we recommend setting up a tour of the Capitol Building. Free guided tours are open to everyone and available daily. Tours begin at the Tour Information Desk, located on the second floor of the Legislative Building, just inside the main entrance.

Tour start times:

Monday- Friday: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.

Saturday-Sunday: 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m.

Tours are available on a first come, first served basis with 20 spaces per hour. If you are a large group of 10 or more, it's recommended to reserve space in advance by calling the State Capitol Tour Office at, (360)902-8880.

If you prefer to do things at your own pace, self guided tours are an option as well.
