It's all about the water in Thurston County! From local brews made with artesian well water to interactive educational exhibits, there is no lack of family-friendly activities in the Olympia area.

Well 80 Brewhouse, located on Fourth Ave. in Olympia,is built on the site of one of Olympia's famous artesian wells. Their Instagram hash tag #WELLMADEBEER says it all! Their Ales and Lagers are made in-house, utilizing the waters of downtown Olympia's Well #80 and you can't go wrong with any brew you choose. 

At this family-friendly brewery, adults can indulge in hand-tossed pizzas, burgers and sandwiches and kids can enjoy a dedicated menu of mac and cheese, grilled cheese, sandwiches, chicken bites and more. Well 80 is a great stop for the whole family.

Before or after your visit to Well 80 Brewhouse, there is more water education to explore in Thurston County. Puget Sound Estuarium is a marine life discovery center featuring aquariums and interpretive exhibits. Open on the weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. it's the perfect place to stop and explore Salish Sea education.

Local beaches are other great opportunities to explore water. Priest Point Park is a 314-acre park with nearly two miles of saltwater shoreline and Tolmie State Park is a 105-acre marine day-use park with 1,800 feet of saltwater  shoreline on the Puget Sound.
