This year's Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Armed Forces Day Community Celebration will take place at Heritage Park on JBLM - McChord Field from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 19. This marks the first time since becoming a joint base Oct. 1, 2010, that the event will be held at McChord Field. The day is jam-packed with fun activities the whole family will love and is a great way to celebrate our military heritage. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

The Volksmarch and bicycle ride begins with registration at 9 a.m. on the corner of 5th St. next to the airpark. The Heritage Hill Airpark is the site for all the attractions and activities. There will be carnival rides, live music, entertainment, a climbing wall, and both food and craft vendors. For military history buffs look for displays, reenactments and displays of military aircraft, vehicles and equipment.
