Vital Fitness gym will hold its spring open house on April 21, from 8:00 a.m. to noon in Lakewood (at 6002 Mt. Tacoma Dr., S.W.).

The event will offer specials to help you jump-start your fitness goals, and  will include one hour of free personal training, classes in kickboxing, boot camp, zumba, Pilates, yoga and gifts and drawings. Enrollment fees will be waived, and participants can sign-up for its six-week weight lost contest (winner receives $250); body fat testing, boot-camp classes, weekly weigh-ins, and nutritional advice are included in the contest fee.

With all the modern equipment such as stair climbers, treadmills, and rowing machines (and beginner pilates classes coming soon), the gym also caters to middle-aged populations, seniors, and active duty military and their families (there are membership discounts and no enrollment fees for military).

"We are clean and spacious and you don't have to wait for a machine," said Bruce Gardner, Vital Fitness's manager. "We have lengthy hours, great members, and a friendly, at-home feeling while you workout."

Open seven days a week (weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), Vital Fitness has been under new ownership since June. Visitwww.vitalfitnessplus.com or call (253) 588-1111 for more information.
