These past couple years have been full of unprecedented challenges, but that didn't stop two restaurateurs from bringing good eats to Tacoma. Here are the two newest steakhouses to open their doors to Tacoma.

The newest of the two  restaurants is Stanford's Tacoma. This newly opened restaurant occupies the old Pacific Grill location in the historic Waddell Building on Pacific Ave. Gorgeous brick walls, velvet chairs and the gold accented bar welcome guests as they enter the restaurant.

Their menu features steakhouse favorites, unique cocktails, local draft beers and regional wines.

Their premium cut meat selection is hand-trimmed, grilled to guests' liking and served with the option of two sides. Filet Mignon, rib eye and New York strip are among the cut choices to choose from. And of course, one of the best parts is the large selection of steak toppers. Caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, 4 oz. lobster tail and more. Sides include onion rings, fresh vegetables, mac and cheese and more.

Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Pepper Bacon Mac & Cheese, Pan Seared Crab Cakes and Romaine Wedge are additional options beyond their premium cut meat selection.

Takeout and delivery services are also available. Valet parking is an option for $10 or guests can park for free  at 1306 Pacific Ave.

STANFORD'S TACOMA, open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday; noon to 10 p.m., Saturday; noon to 8 p.m. Sunday; 1502 Pacific Ave., Tacoma, ??www.stanfords.com/locations/tacoma.

Another steakhouse opening that Tacoma has been blessed with is Cuerno Bravo Prime Steakhouse and Cantina located on St. Helens Avenue.

Cuerno Bravo opened briefly before the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020 and then reopened their doors on and off in the latter half of 2020 - mostly focused on take-out. They've definitely had their fair share of struggles in the early stages, but let us tell you they have prevailed and for good reason.

Owner David Orozco has out done himself with this full sensory dining experience featuring steaks sizzling at your table, delicious cocktails and Mexican hospitality.

An extensive steak menu features USDA Prime selections, American Cross and Australian Wagyu selections and Japanese A5 Wagyu choices. Specifics among these selections are Carrara New York Strip, Filet Mignon, Wylarah Ribeye and so many additional choices.

Other menu items include Guacamole Casero - their famous house guacamole and hand-made tostadas, Tuetano - a fire roasted, extra-long bone marrow canoe with cotija cheese and served with crostini, Rajiitas Poblanas - fire roasted poblano peppers in a cream and corn sauce and so much more.

Their extraordinary cuts of meat, along with their Habanero salsa are also for sale in their retail store.

It's important to note that this restaurant is very popular and reservations are highly recommended. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.
