Whether you're a science fiction nerd, a fantasy geek, a comic book dork, or any one of a dozen types of dweebs, King's Books always has your back. Month after month, the Stadium District bookstore caters not only to high-minded literati snobs, but also to all manner of geek. Did you grab your copy of Prince Lestat at King's? Do you accost King's patrons with notions Hermione should have ended up with Harry instead of Ron? Do you think Washington state author Randy Henderson should have set his new novel series in Yelm instead of Port Townsend? If so, then it's time to put away those Dungeons & Dragons die and get your geekazoid ass to King's for Henderson's appearance Sunday. Henderson's new urban fantasy novel set Finn Fancy Necromancy is indeed set in Port Townsend. As the novelist will explain at King's, 25 years ago Finn Gramaraye was framed for the crime of dark necromancy and, at the age of 15, exiled to the Other Realms. As soon as he gets back, things start going wrong and he finds himself once more accused of a crime he isn't guilty. Now he has three days to prove he's (mostly) innocent to the Arcane Enforcers. Gramaraye has to fend off witches, fight a sasquatch, haggle with gnomes, find a date for his brother, and figure out who in his family is lying to him. Henderson, winner of the 2014 Golden Pen grand prize for Writers of the Future, will dive deeper Sunday.
