Every Sunday night you grab your cardboard sword and settle in for George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy Game of Thrones on HBO. You drool over the grimly realistic medieval tale involving the classic elements of conquest, power and survival, with its multilayered storylines, casual murder, night-dwelling humanoids with a penchant for beheading - certainly not the stuff of McDonald's action toys. And while you enjoy the massive army of Wildlings trudging south for the slaughter, it's Daenerys Targaryen's cute dragons that ignite your inner fantasy geek. May I suggest you plan for international bestselling fantasy author - and Tacoma resident - Robin Hobb's appearance Saturday at the Tumwater Timberland Library. She'll discuss her new book, Blood of Dragons, which completes the story of the dragons, their keepers, and their quest to find the lost city of Kelsingra and the mythical silver wells that could save the dragons from extinction. I have no idea what that means, but exciting! Bring your fake sword.

ROBIN HOBB, 2-3 p.m., Timberland Library, 7023 New Market St., Tumwater, free admission, 360.943.7790
