FabLab Tacoma

FABLAB TACOMA: Create your dream wallet.

Email Article Print Article Share on Facebook Share on Reddit Share on StumbleUpon

Remember how cool you were with a duct tape wallet? Five dollars, a trip to the hardware store and an imagination separated the truly hip from the un-hip. When you think about the plastic (that's polyester, girls) content in everyday attire, it's no wonder people would be drawn to a raw engineered form of it.

Yea, not so much anymore.

FabLab Tacoma - an advance do-it-yourself workshop with freakin' lasers - will bring in John Barrett, an experienced leather-worker from Los Angeles, to teach a workshop on creating custom leather wallets. You'll receive a Leathercraft set with more than 20 tools, then follow Barrett's lead to replace that ratty thing in your back pocket.

FABLAB, 5 P.M., $44-$55 AT BROWNPAPERTICKETS.COM, 1938 MARKET ST., TACOMA, 253.426.1267
