Steel Creek American Whiskey Company knows how to celebrate a one-year anniversary. The downtown Tacoma country restaurant and bar is going big with three days of celebration, new menu items and bourbon (naturally).

The bull is released Thursday, June 12. Enjoy drink specials, but practice moderation so you can partake in all of the fun that requires hand-eye coordination. If not, the whiskey fueled shenanigans can be just another hazy memory. Get the chance to work on your "boot scootin' boogie" with free line dance lessons or hop on the mechanical bull and hang on for dear life - cash and swag prizes go to whomever walks away the bull-riding champion.

Friday the 13th will have you shimmying and shaking with live performances from Nashville-based singer-guitarist Joey Hyde at 6:30 p.m., which you'll need to work off the extra delectable calories you devour while noshing on anniversary cake at 9 p.m.

Cherry on the sundae? Steel Creek will debut its Steel Creek Double Barrel Bourbon at 6 p.m. on Friday. This brown nectar of the gods was concocted in collaboration with Heritage Distilling Co. in Gig Harbor. It's re-barreled on-site, hence the name "double barrel." The bourbon is 65 percent corn, 30 percent rye and 5 percent malted barley mash - aged for less than two years in new American Oak charred barrels. The flavor boasts notes of honey, caramel, walnut, plantain, oak and berries at a cool 92 proof. This release marks the first Tacoma bourbon, so I'd consider it a little tiny bit of history adding to our long lineage of boozy roots.

Saturday, after the afternoon 100.7 The Wolf's Hometown Throwdown country concert wraps up at Cheney Stadium, the wagon train moves to Steel Creek for the official after party, hosted by country/pop music duo Dan + Shay and new country duo American Young. Admission is free with Throwdown ticket stub.

Celebration aside, Steel Creek has updated its dinner menu. Keeping its steakhouse roots, whiskey infused flavors have been added, such as Moonshine Prawns marinated in Ole' Smokey Tennessee Moonshine and its Signature Jack Daniel's Whiskey Butter and Fireball Bread Pudding. Patron favorites such as the Lobster Mac and Cheese and the Whiskey Chicken made the cut. Chef Roman Agullion went with heartier selections, no doubt with the new bourbon in mind.

So there you have it. Dancing, grub, bull riding and BOURBON. Yippee KiYiYa, this is my kind of anniversary bash!
