For months leading up to the anticipated runs of high-speed trains on tracks along Interstate 5 and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, we stressed safety at nearby railroad crossings. At the same time, agencies on and off-base got together to conduct joint emergency training, collaborating on many what-if scenarios.
