The Ovation TV network awarded Spaceworks Tacoma one of its five inaugural innOVATION grants. In fact, Spaceworks was one of three organizations to receive the highest award at $25,000, from the $95,000 pool.

"This award comes at a great time as we continue to evolve our model and strengthen the program. We are thrilled to be recognized nationally for our efforts," shared Amy McBride, Tacoma Arts Administrator

Ovation, the multi-platform network devoted to artists and every kind of artistic expression, selected Spaceworks for its role in "creating innovative art-based programs, which are spurring economic development and revenue growth, as well as community revitalization," according to a released statement.

The program is being administered in partnership with Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading organization for advancing the arts and arts education.

This winter, Spaceworks Tacoma is becoming a joint program of the City of Tacoma and the Tacoma Pierce County Chamber of Commerce. Founding partners from the onset, this strengthened relationship will streamline services, keep them local, and strengthen the role of the creative economy in the program.
