3 DRINK MINIMUM: The Hub

Easy as pie

Aliens often invade my brainwaves, sending subtle subliminal signals that force me to crave certain restaurants.  These are different than normal cravings in the fact I have cravings not for certain foods, but the actual restaurants.  I yearn for a certain atmosphere, a favorite bartender, or an establishment's basic menu selection.  When it came to craving The Hub, it was all three aforementioned reasons.

What's different about The Hub for me is that instead of having a favorite bartender, I enjoy the smiling face of Hub manager Jason Gatliff.  Jason and I go way back (like 11 years back) and I always enjoy seeing him do his thing in his congenial, laid back way.  Jason has always been very good to me, so I had no fear he would sabotage my three drinks by giving me a fancied-up version of a trashcan spodie.

In other words, this 3 Drink Minimum was going to be easy as pie.

Drink One: Pinnacle Peak Pale Ale (bartender's choice) - "Easy as pie"?  Really?  Did I just say that?  What the fuck does "easy as pie" mean anyway?  Since when did I become a grandma from North Carolina?  And have you ever even tried to make a pie?  I mean a REAL pie, with homemade crust and all?  There's nothing "easy" about making a pie.  Unless you're talking about Shepherd's Pie - that's pretty easy.  All you do is layer a bunch of food my mom would've had in her pantry circa 1985.

Moon Pies, on the other hand, those are tasty AND easy to make.

Drink Two: Stress Rest (most popular drink within last hour) - Goddamnit, Jason!  He mucked up my plan to have an easy going 3 Drink Minimum by serving me a dangerously delicious fruit drink.  I can't remember what alcohol exactly was in it, but it was a lot, and it was damn good.  I'm actually quite embarrassed to admit I don't remember, seeing as I asked Jason somewhere between five and 200 times what was in it - yet never wrote it down.

Remembering this drink's contents: NOT easy as pie.

Drink Three: Mt. Takhoma Blonde (my choice) - At this point, all I could think about was pie. I couldn't even comprehend being creative with my last drink order because all I was wishing is that they had pie-flavored beer.  Oh, what I would give for a peach-pie-beer.

Wait - ewww. Maybe not.
