A Night in Ireland

Chef William Mueller and his wife, Shannon, host another chef reservation-only chef’s dinners March 15 and 22 at their Babblin' Babs Bistro in Tacoma. For their A Night in Ireland dinner they will serve Wild King on Irish bread, Irish Onion Stout soup, duet of beets spinach salad, Shamrock mint mist, Gaelic steak with Irish Whiskey and end with a Guinness Stout float. Washington Wine Month

El Gaucho offers a dinner for two — tableside Caesar, 16-ounce Chateaubriand and 8-ounce lobster tail, baked potato, and veggies — paired with one of eight Washington wines for $150 for two. Reserve your spot at this fancy downtown restaurant at 253.272.1510.

CASI Chili Cook-Off

The Puget Pod, the local arm of the Chili Appreciation Society International, hosts a St. Patrick's Day Red and Green Chili Cook-off Saturday, March 14 at The Freighthouse Square. Points and prizes will be awarded to the winning chili cook in both the red and green chili categories.

Samples of the indivdual cooks' chil will be available to the public — all the samples you can eat — for $5.

All proceeds will go to My Sister's Pantry food bank.

The competition runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2525 E. D St. by the Tacoma Dome. For more information, call 253.537.4591.
