  • Bella Vita Italian Restaurant has changed its name to 6th Ave Sports Bar & Grill. No word if they’re changing their I Dream of Jeannie interior or food. Check it at 6108 Sixth Ave. in Tacoma.
  • The Old Town Northern Fish opened in the former spot occupied by Johnny’s Ocean Fish Co. on Ruston Way in Tacoma. They offer fresh, frozen and prepared seafood as well as espresso.
  • The Varsity Grill sports bar has opened its patio at 1114 Broadway in downtown Tacoma. Check out their happy hour from 3-6 weekdays.
  • The Tacoma Symphony Orchestra will host a Celebrity Chefs Showcase, an evening of culinary delights, fine wine and a bit of classical tunes, Thursday, May 29 at Clover Park Technical College. The chefs will be Dan Hutchinson of Brix 25, Aaron Valimont of Pacific Grill, Joel Mertens of Asado/Masa, and Matt Brandsey of Sea Grill. The price tag is $150 per person.
