Suzanne’Silver, Wisdom Teeth

Le Voyeur hosts an interesting show

Rock is a universal language. Nearly anywhere you travel on this big globe there’ll be rebellious kids (and the young at heart) toiling away at rock and roll. Like Levis, McDonald’s, and Coca-Cola, rock and roll is an American invention that’s taken control of the world.

Italy is a long way away. It’s not even close to Olympia.

Despite that, Suzanne’Silver — who have definitely been infected by the rock and roll bug and call Italy home — will play Le Voyeur this Thursday, March 20. They’ll be joined on the bill by Olympia’s equally inspiring math rock masters, Wisdom Teeth. The show will be a display of indie ethos at its best, and proof of rock and roll’s potential the world over.

Suzanne’Silver started in 1998 and was created by four teenagers enthralled by the early ’90s Seattle sound. How’s that for grunge touching the world? At this point, however, the Seattle sound is only a small starting point for their recipe. As 10 years have transpired since Suzanne’Silver came to be, the band’s influences are now varied — ranging from said grunge to blues roots to current indie vibrations. Suzanne’Silver’s shtick is all over the board, which only benefits the band’s overall package. Radio is Down (an Olympia based record label) released the band’s debut full length, The Crying Mary, in ’07. This connection and others make an Olympia date on the band’s West Coast tour only natural. Radio is Down also works with Wisdom Teeth, who, as mentioned before, will join Suzanne’Silver on the bill.

All-in-all, it’s sure to be one hell of a rock and roll night — and culturally diverse to boot. What’s not to like? Suzanne’Silver and Wisdom Teeth play Le Voyeur Thursday, March 20.
