Kate Shanaman

Turning Point co-owner knows bargains

Co-owner of The Turning Point Kate Shanaman rocks it right at a Ladies Only afternoon party. Karen O’Donnell in Tacoma does her sassy platinum locks. Shanaman tells us she fashioned her black headband from DKNY tights ($18) by cutting a leg off. Way to be inventive. Revlon’s Racy Rouge lipstick ($10 Walgreens) gives her lips va-va-voom. Devilishly cute silver skull earrings with a diamond eye ($12) were scooped up at Ranko’s Pharmacy of all places. She sports a backless slouch V-neck tee (Express $30) in defiance of the cooler weather, paired with semi-distressed hip hugger TAG jeans ($160 for real, $90 at TJ Maxx) cinched by gold and bronze braided leather belt (vintage, who knows). Showing her Husky Pride with shiny purple polished toenails never seemed more right. Shoes are black leather vintage Mia (after having them resoled twice, they’re priceless).

How does Kate stay in shape?
