Tight cuts makes hair hot

Salon for dudes opens on Sixth Avenue

There’s a buzz in the air, and it’s not about libations.

This buzz is Tight Cuts, opening Friday at the Sixth and Pearl location (they have Everett and Kirkland locations open already, and a Puyallup location opening soon.)

The concept is all about men’s haircuts — though they cut women, too — and it’s about making the mundane chore of getting clipped something to look forward to.

It’s all about making you feel like a rock star, starting with the Rock Star you’ll be offered as you sit in a comfy lobby that feels like you wish your own living room felt — classy, casual and cool.

Your stylist will greet you in the Tight Cuts uniform — something leather and something snug—and will set you down into a high-end barber chair you’ll want to take home.

She’ll give you a great cut and style, and more, as her massage will soothe away whatever tension you might feel watching your favorite team lose on the plasma TVs all around the salon.

Tight Cuts CEO Dominic Casey explained that the concept was created out of a need he and his co-founder felt wasn’t being addressed: “we take a haircut and make it more of an experience,” with a blend of classy and sexy atmosphere, amped up with great service.

That service is available on an appointment basis or to walk-in customers, with the option of developing a styling relationship with one stylist, or the convenience of first-available service.

The full-service cut runs $28 for men’s cut and style, while women’s cuts start at $45; the Tacoma location has three stylists on-board, though the company is looking to hire a couple more for the Tacoma location, as well as their South Hill location.
