Give the Broadway Center your mind

First community dialogue in the Pantages Lobby

The high-pitched squeal of feedback is not a sound you want to hear on stage, but behind the scenes the people at Broadway Center for the Performing Arts are collecting feedback of a different kind. The Broadway Center board has some younger hipper members now who would like to bring a few shows that their peers would enjoy. To see if the public would support this, they sent out a survey last December asking patrons for feedback. After the responses were tabulated, two shows were scheduled for the Pantages Theater: “An Evening with Bob Newhart” for June 7, and Bob Marley’s The Wailers on June 24.

“There were several other favorites on the list, which are definite possibilities in the upcoming 2007-2008 Season,” explains Lacey Leffler, Broadway Center’s associate director of marketing

The other acts they are considering are Madeline Peyroux, Gov’t Mule, The Decemberists, Ben Folds, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Rilo Kiley, Josh Blue and Foreigner.

To discover your wants and needs, Broadway Center will host their very first community dialogue in the Pantages Lobby on April 30 at 6 p.m. All are welcome, and they will even provide food and beverages. The flier that they handed out at the last 100th Monkey party said, “The future of the performing arts in your theaters, your Tacoma, your hands. Make it happen.”
