Hot fun in the springtime

The Tacoma Urban League Guild is hosting the “World’s Largest Traveling Fashion Show,” the 49th Annual Ebony Fashion Fair presentation, Stylishly Hot. The Ebony Fashion Fair is a show known for its daring, body-baring style — if the name alludes to anything, the evening promises to carry on that tradition. Designs from America, Italy, France and Great Britain are featured, in addition to those from areas as diverse as Lebanon, Jamaica and Japan.

Tickets cost $30 each, and can be purchased at the Tacoma Urban League, 2550 Yakima Ave. S. in Tacoma. — Jessica Corey-Butler

Dirty Martinis for clean water

Premiere Salon and Spa in Olympia is hosting a dirty martini party on Sunday, April 22 from 7 to 9 p.m., which will be held at The Clipper, to help raise funds for the Columbia Riverkeepers, a non-profit conservation group working to restore clean water and a healthy Columbia River.

This event, a partnership with Aveda in celebration of Earth Month, will include dirty martinis, hors d’oerves, a free Aveda candle, and raffle prizes throughout the evening.
