In honor of Veterans Day, many local restaurants, businesses and attractions are offering free admission, a meal, or discounts for Veterans Day. In order to receive a discount, you must show proof of military service such as a VA Universal Access Card, military ID, DD-214 (discharge papers), Veterans Service Organization Card, or Veteran designation on a drivers license. Note that the specials are for the veteran only. Here are a sampling for 2019 Veterans Day freebies:

Both the National Parks and Washington State Parks offer free admittance to everyone on Veterans Day.
California Pizza Kitchen:Veterans and active U.S. military members with proof of service have an invitation to enjoy a complimentary meal from CPK's Veterans Day menu at all participating California Pizza Kitchen locations nationwide. Outback Steakhouse: All active and former service members receive a free Bloomin' Onion and a beverage Nov. 11. Outback is also offering active and former service members and first responders 20 percent off meals Nov. 8-11.
Patagon: Seattle's Argentine-inspired restaurant will give away a beer with every purchase.
