ANNOUNCER: It's BBQ season at last! Instead of gathering for a backyard BBQ, Dutch and Jackie hit up the Zodiac Supper Club where you can grill your own grub while immersed in a funky fresh vibe. There's weird art, a retro jukebox and steak ...

JACKIE: I can promise, without a doubt, Zodiac Supper Club's ambiance is one you won't see anywhere else in town. Even during a bright and sunny day, the moment you cross the threshold you're transported. Astrology kitsch runs throughout, funky velvet paintings, sparkling garland, twinkling lights and ornate lanterns emitting a pinkish hued glow. Even the walls exude a sex appeal with texture and pattern. The menu is decidedly less sexy, but fun. As our bartender put it, "it's exactly what you expect -- it's approachable, no frills, like going to a backyard BBQ."

DUTCH: But the cocktail menu is all kinds of sexy with selections like the Zombie Volcano Bowl filled with three kinds of rum, grapefruit, lime and fire -- yes I said fire. And if you're really feeling the backyard grilling vibe and have arrived with all the neighbors, try the Boathouse Punch, which serves up to six. A lot of gin is joined by grapefruit and lemons and champagne. It's a party all by itself.

JACKIE: While I'd like to brag of my phenomenal culinary prowess, grilling has never been my forte, so I opted to dig into the snack side of the menu. I lingered on the Pimento Cheeseball, though I can't recall a time I ever had one and settled instead on the Potato Salad Flight, I mean ... really, it's a no-brainer. Three generous servings were placed in front of me and I devoured more taters than I'd recommend a lady ought to and washed it all down with a foo-foo, champagne-based adult beverage. The Herb Potato Salad delighted with creamy red potatoes, dill and green onion. The Lemon-Parsley Potato Salad was exactly like something I expected to enjoy during a family picnic with red potatoes, bell peppers, red onion, parsley and lemon. And the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, while not technically "potato salad," was my favorite -- scratch-made with the perfect amounts of garlic, butter and cream.

DUTCH: I went all out on the grilling opportunity here. And there are so many possibilities from the 16-ounce bone-in rib eye to the vegetable skewer or even a burger, if that's your thing. I went with the popular nine-ounce Flat Iron steak as it seemed a good middle-of-the-road option. With so many marinating sauces and rubs next to the grill in the dining room, the seasoning options seemed more daunting than the meat selections. I ultimately went simple with a garlic rub, which offered a great deal of flavor to go with the side salad and garlic bread that came with the meal. And yes, as a matter of fact, I did grill my bread as well!
