ANNOUNCER: Clearly, Dutch and Jackie have been in the mood for breakfast lately and wished to continue the trend with a visit to South Tacoma Way's Around the Corner Café 2. This sister store is the second of two locations opened last fall. The OG Around the Corner Café calls Orting home base.

JACKIE: Breakfast all day, every day, count me in. The vibe here is classic greasy spoon, hole-in-the-wall with booths lining a mirrored wall, black and white checkered floors and a counter you can ante up to. The space could use a little sprucing up, but you can never judge a book by its cover. We were greeted by our friendly server as we entered the doors, took a seat and perused the menu offerings that include a five-pound hobo hash, omelets, sammies, burgers and more. I'm going to be totally candid: If you are in a rush, this is not your stop. Or rather, don't go hungry if you are the type to develop hanger. With one person in the kitchen and three other tables seated, we found ourselves waiting longer than expected for our meals to arrive.

DUTCH: I rolled in early afternoon on a lazy Sunday, but wasn't in the mood for lunch. The menu isn't huge, so it was easy to navigate through and make a quick decision. The portions, on the other hand, are beyond huge. Especially if you bring a 17-year-old son with you whose eyes beam when he sees an offering of five pounds of hash. With four varieties to choose from, he grabbed the Farmers Hobo Hash with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, mushrooms, and onions tossed in with potatoes and topped with cheddar cheese. The Hobo Hash is everything advertised: big on flavor and big on quantity. To be fair, this is more of a mountain than a meal.

JACKIE: I was impressed with the generous portions, but opted to not accept the Hobo Hash challenge. I mean, it's not an actual challenge posed but the thought of it intimidated me. I did indulge in the Biscuits and Everything, which boasted two biscuits slathered in sausage gravy, hashbrowns (or home fries), two eggs and two slices of bacon (or sausage). Aside from the generous portion sizes, ultimately, I was left disappointed. Every component of the dish could have benefitted from some salt, pepper, hot sauce or really seasoning of any kind. It was big and bland and went mostly uneaten.

DUTCH: As much as I wanted to try the Hawaiian Omelet of ham, pineapple and Swiss, I wasn't prepared for fruit in my eggs. I was, however, totally prepared for an omelet smothered in hollandaise sauce. The B.A.C is a thick omelet with lots of bacon, avocados, tomatoes, and Swiss cheese, then covered in rich sauce and garnished with more fresh avocados. I opted for the fresh fruit and toast as my side so that I didn't feel quite so gluttonous.

JACKIE: Craving some flavor to turn it all around, we also ordered up the Volcano Burger. This beast did not disappoint. Spicy kielbasa joins the beef burger patty and is topped with grilled onions, jalapenos and melty American and Pepper Jack cheeses, then served with a side of crisp, seasoned fries. I'd recommend you cut it in half, get extra napkins and dive in.

DUTCH: Oooo . . . next time I'll grab some lunch food!
