ANNOUNCER: Family friendly by day, and adults-only by night, the welcoming community feel of Black Kettle Bites and Brew brings Jackie and Dutch in for a bite ... and maybe a brew or two.

JACKIE: Black Kettle has a great vibe, loads of natural light pours in and their patio is a great place to crack a brewski and sun worship in the heart of downtown. I'm most impressed by their beer selection. They boast over 40 cans of craft beer, wine, sangria and cider. That's right, wine, in a can! The selection is always changing but the term "there's something for everyone" rings true in regards to the beverage selection.

DUTCH: In the "bites" section of the menu, the pigs in a blanket caught my eye. Small smoky sausages are wrapped in puff pastries and served by the half dozen for just $5.  They offer deli mustard, nacho cheese, and maple syrup for dipping, but will give you a side of Ranch if you ask nicely. I mixed it up a bit and selected nacho cheese and syrup so I could get a little spicy and sweet to go with my smokies.

JACKIE: Tiny lil' wieners wrapped in croissants, what's not to love?  I ordered the nachos that can come with chicken for an additional charge. Oftentimes you're left with a bunch of bland corn chips and not enough toppings, but I found Black Kettle's to be just the opposite. You get a little bit of chip with your nacho fixin's. Creamy cheese, chicken, olives, onion and jalapeno galore fill your basket. Grab a fork and dive in.

DUTCH: The sandwiches are made fresh to order with a side of chips. I ordered the turkey BLT which in addition to crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato, it is piled high with thick turkey and served on toasted bread with just the right amount of mayonnaise. In a world of fast sandwiches, it is nice to enjoy a sandwich that focuses on fresh.

JACKIE: Fresh and friendly. Bonus, their espresso beans are courtesy of 6th Ave staple Blue Beard Coffee, meaning roasted bean concoctions are absolutely delightful. You know, if craft brews aren't your thing.

DUTCH: I really like that it is family friendly during the day and even has a game corner. I grabbed an espresso and played a little scrabble with the kids while they sipped on a hot chocolate.

JACKIE: They even host a variety of events from karaoke, storytelling and trivia. Though after 4 p.m., you've got to ditch the littles to enjoy the festivities. All that said, Black Kettle is definitely providing a rad venue for solo adventures or gathering with a group of friends.
