March 20, Mayor Marilyn Strickland is issuing a proclamation urging citizens of Tacoma to put a pause on their carnivorous ways and skip the meat. A full day of going meatless, being referred to as a "Meatout," could spare the lives of more than 100,000 animals, preserve 30 million square feet of rainforest and save 750 gallons of water. Take the challenge.
