HAGGEN HUG

The little Bellingham grocery chain Haggen is moving into the scores of Albertsons, Pavilions, Safeway and Vons stores in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona and Nevada it bought last month. Haggen is connecting with Thurston County community members during a public forum at 5 p.m. Friday, March 27 in the Olympia Center Multipurpose Room B (222 Columbia St. NW, Olympia). Meet with Haggen leaders, local farmers and producers to discuss the new grocer selling sustainable wares.

MEAT BINGO

Monday the 30th marks the final Meat Bingo Monday at Rock the Dock Pub and Grill (535 Dock St., Tacoma). You heard right. Meat Bingo is free to play because it's March Monday which equals meat apparently. Score some swag from Stewarts Meat Market. You can score 2 pounds country bacon, one T-bone steak, two 8-ounce rib-eyes or one 5 pound pot roast. This is rock and roll bingo your meat-loving granny would adore.

NEW MENU

Dirty Oscar's Annex (2309 Sixth Ave., Tacoma) is releasing a new menu very soon. When? You'll have to check into their Facebook to find out. Meanwhile the Hub in Gig Harbor has announced their spring menu releases including Caprese Salad, Shrimp Louie, and their famous Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna. Keep an eye out for more springtime flavors.

DRINK RHUBARB

Spring means new creative libation concoctions. First on our radar is the Crown Bar (2705 Sixth Ave., Tacoma) is making a rhubarb schnapps with Tito's Vodka and the first rhubarbs of the season. The recipe was inspired with authors Diana Henry and Jan Berry. Get yourself some.
