CROWN BAR

If you think Charlie McManus and Jacqueline Plattner, you think the re-opening of Primo Grill on Tacoma's Sixth Avenue. But, their neighborhood pub is still very special ... with specials. The Crown Bar (2705 Sixth Ave., Tacoma) offers smoky wines for $5 on Tuesday, Wednesday night Burgerama (burger and fries combos) deal for $8.99, pulled pork sandwiches on Thursdays, Steak Night every Friday, Saturday kicks off the weekend with a beef brisket while Sunday closes it down with all day drinks on happy hour.

ARAB FESTIVAL

The Arab Fest Shuruq II will fill the Olympia Center with Arabian culture, uniting communities and educating for peace Oct. 4. First, there's a fundraiser for the fest. The Arab Festival Fundraising Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 at Chambers Restaurant Panorama (1751 Circle Lane SE). A $30 ticket comes with a silent auction, no host bar and Middle Eastern cuisine such as hummus, lamb stew, Moroccan chicken, baklava and more. A TASTE OF WASHINGTON

Maxwell's Restaurant and Lounge (454 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) will host an exclusive bookworm and dining matrimony with A Taste of Washington Cookbook Signing and Dinner from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 24. A $50 ticket includes cookbook author and photographer Michelle Morris on site to discuss her cookbook and sign copies as well as a special tasting menu featuring Chef Hudson Slater's recipes that are highlighted in the book. YACHTOBERFEST

The first annual Yachtoberfest docks Oct. 4 along the Thea Foss Waterway Esplanade. More than a dozen local craft breweries will line the shoreline. Yes, beer is awesome, but the German-themed grub provided by Social Bar and Grill, Paeans Kitchen and Bar, Fleischkuechle food truck and talks of a pretzel vendor will also be awesome.
