WINE WITH FRIENDS

Stina's Cellars (9316 Lakeview Ave. SW, Lakewood) celebrates wine with "bring a friend" specials every first Thursday and Friday of the month. Snag your wino lush of a friend and enjoy a two-for-one tasting and 10 percent off any wine purchase from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday and again the next day. Why? Well, any true lover of the fermented grape juices would.

CULINARY ARTS WORKSHOP

Bates Technical College (1101 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma) hosts a Culinary Arts Workshop 10 a.m. to noon Friday, April 4. Chef Roger Knapp will instruct a course covering the basics of cooking, knife skills and embellishing meals with herbs and spices. Knapp and his students will demonstrate skills while preparing food for consumption. Taste test! Learning Is ForEver is affiliated with Pacific Lutheran University and Road Scholar/Elderhostel programs. Class is $10. It's appropriate for ages 18 and older. Bayview School of Cooking located in the Bayview Thriftway (516 W. Fourth Ave.,  Olympia) teaches a plethora of hands on cooking courses. This week's opportunities include: Wild for Waffles!
