Holiday Food and Gift Festival Cooking Classes

The 31st annual Tacoma Holiday Food and Gift Festival includes South Sound chefs performing cooking demonstrations. See the likes of Adriatic Grills Chef Trudnowski, Chef Dircks of Stanley and Seafort's, Chef Geoffrey Yahn of Dirty Oscar's and many others. The program runs through Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Tacoma Dome. The $13.50 allows entry daily. Click here for chef line up. 

Urban Shopping and Cocktails

If you're looking to spice up your culinary endeavors then Libertine Tacoma Salts is an excellent place to start. And for those who like to imbibe on a signature cocktail and light bites during their shopping spree, love to shop local artisan vendors and are looking to score Libertine goodness such as Fiery Habanero and Black Truffle Italian sea salts, then the Urban Shopping and Cocktails from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 is your nirvana. This 21 and older event will be held at 842 S. Sprague in Tacoma.

French Country Wine Dinner

Carol Davis of Wild Side Wines partners with Chef Bette Anne to present A French Country Wine Dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the wine store, 608 A S. Oxford in Tacoma. The $50 admission includes dishes such as cassoulet and cherry clafouti with wine samples. Call 253.565.0811 for details and reservations.

Fall Menu

Maxwell's Speakeasy and Lounge (454 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) released their fine dining fall menu this week featuring roasted lamb pot pie and gnocchi with chanterelle mushrooms, among others. May we suggest you pair the new dishes with its Top Hat Cocktail featuring rye whiskey and ginger beer.
