ART + WINE

You know what's better than sipping Abeja 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon with its flavors of plums, blackberries and umami mushroom/soy nuances? Sipping it while looking at awesome art. Morso Wine Bar (9014 Peacock Hill Ave., Gig Harbor) will host a reception and meet and greet for featured artist Christina Hella Cott Thompson from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 3. Through June 6, Morso patrons can view Cott Thompson's "The Neighborhoods" images, inspired by her own neighborhood.

WOMEN + WINE

Spend Friday May 3 honoring women with women winemakers from 4-7 p.m. at Wildside Wine (608 A S. Oxford, Tacoma). A $5 appetizer buffet courtesy of Chef Bette Anne will be available as well as a selection of vino also priced at $5, which can be applied toward the purchase of featured wines.

LUAU DANCE PARTY

If you love scantily clad, tassel wearing ladies, hula hooping, booty shaking and tropical cocktails then Tacoma Cabana (728 Pacific Ave., Tacoma) is a must stop at 8 p.m. Saturday May 4. Tacoma's tiki bar hosts a Luau Dance Party starring the Grit City Sirens burlesque troupe. There will be all of the aforementioned as well as a limbo contest, raffle prizes and music brought to you by DJs Broam and Eddie. We suggest you try the Zombie cocktail.

TACO TUESDAYS

Recently featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Sixth Avenue staple Dirty Oscars Annex (2309 Sixth Ave., Tacoma) - affectionately referred to as DOA by locals - the restaurant's tot and taco culinary prowess is now known nation wide. In celebration, Dirty Oscar's launched its Northwest Taco Tuesday special, which features corn tortillas stuffed with grilled salmon, pico de gallo and purple cabbage slaw for $3 a piece. Naturally, a taco special begs for a tequila pairing and select tequilas will be available for $5 a pop.
