BEER DINNER

Salty's at Redondo Beach (28201 Redondo Beach Dr. S., Des Moines) chef Gabe Cabrera is collaborating with Widmer brewmaster Rob Mcfadden to pair culinary delights with hops at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25. Featuring a four-course dining experience pairing prime rib chili with a Russian stout, Cobb salad with a citrus-toned Hefeweizen and scallops with a Ryely IPA. The finale features an apple torte served with Widmer Bourbon. Dinner is $65 and reservations are highly recommended at 253.946.0636.

HAPPY HOUR DINNER

Federal Way staple Verrazano's Italian Restaurant (28835 Pacific Hwy. S., Federal Way) serves up classic Italian cuisine and at a fair price to boot. As a sort of "happy hour" for dining guests Verrazano's features a three-course dinner for $17.95 daily from 3-6 pm.

MARY AND MORSO

Art, wine and dine at Morso (9014 Peacock Hill Ave., Gig Harbor). From 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, Morso will host an artist reception for featured artist Mary McInnis. McInnis' "My Life is a Carousel"exhibition highlights her "whirl on the carousel of life" paintings. Bonus: with each entree purchased, diners will receive a magic, chocolate -overed fortune cookie that behold special offers.

AQUA VIA AT SCHOOL

Will Taylor of Olympia's Acqua Via restaurant will host a cooking demonstration at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 at the Bayview School of Cooking (516 W. Fourth Ave., Olympia). With one foot planted in Acqua Vin's motto "elevating the art of simple rustic food," Taylor will present meat and cheese plates, oysters and champagne, steamy cream of artichoke soup, Chicken Saltimbocca with the grand finale Olympic Mountain frozen delights. AMERICAN IN GIG HARBOR

American Brewing will dominate Tides Tavern (2925 Harborview Dr., Gig Harbor) taps when brewmaster Skip Madsen and his brewskies visit the waterfront watering hole from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 30.
