Whiskey and Chocolate. Need I say more? If you know me, you know you can count me in. Doyle's Public House is hosting a Whiskey and Chocolate Pairing Saturday, Jan. 25, 5:45 and 8 p.m. Tease Chocolates and whiskey expert Neil Strachan will guide guests through five single malts from Balvenie, paired with one or more delectable chocolates from Tease. Festivities include a greeting cocktail and light snacks crafted by the kitchen crew. Tickets are $42 with two seatings available: 5:45 and 8 p.m. Must be 21 and over to attend. Purchase your tickets in-house or online at Balvenie.brownpapertickets.com. 208 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma

On Friday, Jan. 31, Brewers Row hosts a Brewers Night featuring Revision Brewing. Beer lovers might be familiar with Revision's award-winning brewmaster Jeremy Warren, and their head brewer Jeb Taylor, thanks to their reputations for hop-forward beers. Even if you're not familiar, Brewers Night is a fun opportunity to connect with the beer makers and win some prizes. Festivities take place from 6 to 8 p.m. and highlighted brews include: Disco Ninja, Revision Double IPA Lord Lupulin, and Revision Red -- all of which probably pair well with the nachos in-house. 3205 N 26th St., Tacoma

I'm always on the prowl for fun foodie-themed gatherings. Food and drink is one of the essential tools in bringing people together. The next two events are wildly different from each other. Much like the people who coordinate and attend such gatherings, there's always a diversity in offerings and theme. Let's begin with:

The Vegan Mini Market! OG Muscle Gym is hosting a 100 percent vegan mini market. This free monthly event will go down every final Sunday of the month from noon to 3 p.m. and feature six to 10 vegan artisan vendors slinging their wares. If you happen to be a 100 percent vegan business interested in being included, they encourage you to reach out. The first of this series is Sunday, Jan. 26. 612 Tacoma Ave. S, Tacoma

Next, a butchery class hosted by Delmonico's Heritage Butcher. If you've been wanting to hone your knife skills, you're in luck. Delmonico's in Olympia is hosting a hands-on butchery class, Friday, Jan. 24. Meant to serve as a creative networking and education opportunity, the focus is to display craft techniques in butchery and local meat sourcing. Topics covered include sirloin steak, top round and chuck roasts, as well as unique cuts like the Denver, just to name a few. Also discussed will be meat processing, storing, dry aging and serving beef -- all while covering knife skills and safety. I'm endlessly intrigued by this class, and if you are, too, tickets are $120 and include the chance to take home some of the cuts of beef. 916 Fourth Ave. E, Olympia
