Bite-sized foodie news for your consumption

The brand new E9 Brewpub and Taproom promised delectable food trucks and visiting food fare vendors to provide sustenance to pair with pints of E9 Brews, and this Friday and Saturday they offer Fresh & Distinct Filipino Food with Jan Parker Cookery. Parker has dialed in outdoor cooking to a fine science with appearances at Tacoma and Gig Harbor night markets and farmers markets around town, so this matrimony makes perfect sense. The menu will include: Grilled Chicken Adobo Flatbread with shallot sour cream, arugula and shaved onion (a dish crafted specifically for E9); Jufran and Soy Sauce Glazed Pork Belly Rice Bowl with French sorrel, arugula, and mustard greens tossed in sesame oil and Maldon Sea Salt; and a Longanisa Sausage Rice Bowl with an over-easy egg, red cabbage and bok choy pickle. If you're vegan, you can dive into the Mixed Mushroom and Tofu Sisig sautéed with soy sauce, calamansi, ginger, garlic, onion and chilis.

Parker sources so much of her ingredients locally with greens coming from local urban farmer on the eastside of Tacoma, Share the Wealth Organics, and the chicken is from Dave's Meat and Produce. 4 p.m., Friday; 5 p.m., Saturday, 2506 S. Fawcett Ave., Tacoma

While dining establishment Mitapeap Khmer Restaurant looks to settle down in a new home in Tacoma's Eastside, they are currently hosting special friendship seating-styled gatherings to help with moving costs Saturday, 2:30-4 p.m. and 4:30-6 p.m. Tickets are $30 per seat, reservation is required, and space is limited so snag your spot ASAP. They will also be opening their traditional hours for regular dining. The menu includes:

Angel Wings, chicken wings stuffed with Cambodian herbs and spices; Laab Sach Ko, a classic Cambodian beef salad; Somlaw Karko, Cambodian stew with pork rib, pumpkin, kale, mini eggplant and herbs; Cha Kreung -- Sach Moeun, Cambodian-style chicken stir-fry; and Lok Lak -- Sach Ko, Cambodian pepper beef with a lime dipping sauce and sweet rice dumplings in coconut and ginger sauce to finish it all off. Expect a brunch starting Sunday afternoon -- time to be determined.
