I'm spiraling this year. The Easter Bunny visited our house a day early, you know, because Sunday was such a busy work day for us. You'd think the kids would be excited about such a thoughtful bunny hopping through the house with plastic eggs full of sugary sweet snacks and swag, but instead they're suspicious. ... I'm thinking the upcoming Adult Egg Hunt hosted at Sehmel Homestead Park is precisely what I need to put my woes to rest. If I can go to a belated Easter tradition, then it's perfectly reasonable that the big bun can visit a day early, right?

Festivities kick off Saturday, April 27, 4-7 p.m. Ditch the kids and enjoy
egg hunts, competition games, "kill the wabbit" slingshots, a photo booth and a Kiwanis Beer Garden featuring hoppy concoctions and libations from 7 Seas Brewing and Heritage Distilling Company. Those libations will help you wash down burgers from the Stacks Burgers Truck while you boogie the night away and score some swag.

Each participant will receive a meal and a drink of their choice with a ticket purchase. You may purchase two additional drink tickets -- 21 and over only folks. No children or persons under 21 allowed. Tickets are $35 a piece or you can score a deal at $60 for two.

Also on Saturday, noon-9 p.m., you can celebrate the five-year anniversary of Top Rung Brewing. To celebrate, they're throwing a shindig to remember.

At 3:30 p.m., Kristen Marlo gets things going with her singer-songwriter prowess. Then at 6 p.m., MonkFlower will take the stage. Top Rung said, "These folks know how to throw down. Let the smooth and funky beats top your night." Naturally, the real star of the show will be new beer releases throughout the day, swag and a special anniversary glass for purchase.

Wicked Pies Pizza will be in the house slapping some dough and even providing a special slice for the evening. Become a VIP in the VIB tent (Very Important Beer) for a sweet $75 (or $110 for a duo). While the rest of the festivities are free to attend and family-friendly, VIBs get special access and swag including: pours of Lacey Lager, Shift Trade IPA, and My Dog Scout Stout; a slice of Wicked Pies pizza; a commemorative glass; growler of Ginger Lime Pale; T-shirt; unlimited snacks; bottled water and soda; AND first dibs on new release beers on tap. Join in on the hop-fueled festivities. Tickets are available at Hogum Bay Ln. NE St. E., Lacey
