Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack ... " Which sport is identified most with (and beloved for) its concessions? Hint: it ain't football.

Sadly, for all the screaming hysteria to be heard in Seahawk Nation, no one says much about the food in its capital stadium. Zach Hensley, managing director of guest experience at CenturyLink Field, has tackled that challenge along with Seattle Sportservice general manager, Eric Kornbluth. They're deploying an all-star roster of eateries in a battering ram of culinary splendor when the season gets underway Sept. 11.

Carnivores, you should blitz Smokehouse BBQ in sections 120 and 335. Their brisket sandwich is caressed with a tequila-lime rub, then smoked on the premises. If you still have belly room, the pulled pork sammy is a crowd-pleaser that'll sweeten the dreariest third-quarter doldrums.  Likewise, the burger at Beardslee Public House (sections 205 and 239) is the platonic ideal of a bacon-topped bovine slab on brioche. Best of Pioneer Square (sections 105 and 309) layers Rain Shadow Meats' succulent pork on its sandwiches, which include a refreshing banh mi.

Your basic fried-food addictions shall be sated at good, old ("Since 1938!"), reliable Ivar's (sections 118, 133 and 337), though we must not look askance at cup after cup of the chain's famous clam chowder as it slides over the counter this autumn. For our money, however a Los Angeleno favorite, chicken and waffles conquers even Pacific Northwestern fish 'n' chips. Ezell's (sections 126 and 321) provides its peppery, crispy poultry, while Belgium contributes its waffles for an impeccable combination.

If that's not exotic enough for you, try the gourmet Chinese eats at Hue Ky Mi Gia (sections 139 and 324), spicy tuna roll at Seastar (sections 213 and 231), or fluffy pinch buns and congee (rice porridge) at Kraken Congee (section 132). If it's a taste of Pike Place Market you're after, hit Local Eats featuring Beecher's Mac & Cheese (section 116) or Uli's mouth-watering Italian sausage sandwich (sections 106, 139 and 309). Another Beecher's stand is located in section 130.

Vegetarians will find hummus, kale and quinoa - the vegan trifecta - on nutritious plates from Grab & Go stands (sections 111, 205, 239, 315, 330). Less-healthy eaters will crave the Top Pot donuts to be found at Grab & Go. They'll taste even better with a latte from any of the eight Starbucks locations scattered throughout the arena - or crunch into a churro from The Cantina (sections 131, 305 and 339).

Finally, there's plenty to be said for a hot dog, especially one boasting Uli's chorizo, chipotle crema and cilantro. A less gut-busting Seattle Dog (sections 109, 124, 135, 149, 313 and 324) offers cream cheese and sautéed onions. Beer lovers will enjoy a sudsy spectrum of brews, including the gluten-free option from Ghostfish Brewing (sections 116, 130, 141, 209, 235 and P111). Hey, if you're gonna pay stadium prices for a beer, you may as well love it.
